Here's a simple poem I made for my 3rd year high school students in St. Paul College-Makati.I wrote this poem while I was in III- St. Benedict's room waiting for the variety show to start. It has no regular rhyme/metrical scheme whatsoever.. I just wrote with my heart. 

Despite the stressful days and the sleepless nights that lasted for THREE months, I can still say that I had fun teaching them. My three-month practicum had ended but in my heart, I will FOREVER be their teacher. 

A Teacher's Wish

Three months have passed, now I have to go

I had fun with you, I hope you know

The memories, the laughters, sure they'd all stay

But before I leave, I have three things to say

First,

Learn to live life not for yourself alone

Save some love for all the people you know

Be at peace with God, your neighbors and your friends

You're not who you are if not because of them

Second,

Continue to the discover the beauty of life

Read poetry, travel endlessly and sky dive

There's more to life than your books alone

Go on and decipher God's messages on your own

And most importantly,

Be in constant communication with yourself

Perceive differently and always reflect

Crafting yourself first can be a noble step

To create the world that we've always wanted

These things I hope you'll ponder on

Remember them always as you move on

As your teacher, I wish all the best for you

I hope you learned from me as much as I learned from you

So dear Paulinians, many thanks to you

I hope you'll remember me, too

This is not the end, this is not goodbye

Soon, I know I'll see you at the top with a smile

Kamusta?

Hay. I'm quite disappointed. Akala ko they'll let us shoot endlessly all day after (or kahit before) maglecture ung speaker.

Kaso.

Hindi.

Hindi ganun ang nangyari.

Naglecture lang kami. 

They discussed the technical terms, rules, and all. 

Pero at least, na-verify ko naman ung mga prior knowledge ko.It's  still good to hear from a professional once in a while. Ayun.That's the happiest part. 

After the workshop, nagshoot kami ni Katz sa ampitheater, ayun. pero di pa din ako satisfied. Malamang di ba? 12 noon na nun. So anu eexpect ko? Sobrang taas na ng araw. E di over-exposed na ung mga shots. Buti sana kung sobrang bongga ng pointa and shoot ko. Kaso. Hindi. Hindi ganun. Pero still, I'll be uploading some shots, maybe, later. Malay mo. 

Still, kahit na disappointed ako. Ok lang nman. I had UBE with kat. haha. food trip and camwhoring(timer shots). 

Oh well. Back to school works. 

Yay! Congratulations to Nikki and Joseph! Honorable Mention cla for the Tula category. So happy for both of you guys! You deserve it! *clap clap* 

Unfortunately, I didn't win.hehe. But it's ok. Better luck next time. Maybe it's not really for me. God always have better plans.  I'm still very thankful to GT because he recognized and appreciated my work so much. I never thought that someone as BIG as GT would appreciate my words. It's more than winning the LitAw award, really. Haha. 

Anyway, Ryza was also there. She sang "Dancing Queen" (acoustic version).Galing galing niya. woohoo...Go!

I've always had a strange fascination with kids. That is maybe the reason why I wanted to be a teacher. 

KIDS.

They are naughty.

They are always playful.

But at times, they can also be very moody and sensitive

While other grown ups hate it whenever kids ask them for a new toy, an ice cream or a candy, I find it so amusing to spoil kids, give them whatever they want and see petty smiles on their faces at the end of the day.

A day with kids is a rewarding experience.

 It's my escape from a mind full of worldy concepts and fancies.

It's my escape from a world full of stress and worries brought about by a long tiring day of school.

It's my escape from a vision of chaos and complexity.

Hence, a day with kids is my entrance to a more radiant and postive world. 

It's a portal for simple imaginings and magical fancies.

It's a gate to a world of magic, beautiful princesses, mighty knights and noble kings and queens. 

It's a gate to a world where the only important question is "WHY?" and not "what?", "who?", "where?", "when?" and "how?"

Kids do something that adults sometimes forget to do.

They SEEK for PURPOSE.

Because in a kid's world, the most important duty in life is finding PURPOSE; the WHYs of things.

"Why do people get married?"
"Why do little children have mothers?"
"Why do people age?"
"Why do brides wear gowns?"
"Why do we breathe?"

Those are all simple questions of a kid that really make sense. Answers to those simple questions are what they want to know in their simple little worlds. 
Behind those cute smiles and curious eyes are simple lessons that every people in the world should know; a lesson that God also wants us to learn. 

In a world of dirty politics, poverty and unaware citizens,

SEEKING for PURPOSE is what we truly need. 

So, try to talk to a kid even for just an hour and behind those eyes, you will learn God's greatest lesson.

You will learn simple but heartfelt stories.
You will learn that all things are created because of REASONS.
You will learn that all things can be understood by simply making WHY questions.

Then, by listening to the words of an innocent four-year old child, you will realize the beauty of seeking for PURPOSE.

= I loove GT. haha. he gave me kwatro.yay! :D Still thinking twice kung susundin ko ang kanyang advice na mag-submit ako ng entry sa 24th DLSU annual awards for literature. whew. after knowing na sya pla ung first winner sa annual awards n yon..prang nanliit ako. haha. :) galing galing nya. i admire him tlga. i have read one of his journals (I searched it on the net). His works are not just about gayness and sexuality. They have deeper and personal meanings. They are true works of a genius and a MAN who knows how to THINK and SHARE WHAT HE THINKS. 

= haha. and...after typing the previous paragraph, I've finally decided na mag-susubmit na q ng entry sa Annual! hahaha.. there's no harm in trying. win or lose, at least i tried di ba?

=went to Divi with my mom yesterday. grabe. di mahulugan ng karayom (naks, idiom!!) ung mga tao. haha. and i realized, pag pupunta ka sa Divi, patience is a VIRTUE. kung maikli patience mo, mapapaaway ka. There was this old woman na tumulak sakin ng sobrang lakas. I looked at her and she said, "tinutulak mo ko e!!", WOW! ako pa daw ung nanulak. haha. kung natulak ko man sya, i'm 100% sure na ndi ko un sinasadya. sa dami ba naman ng tao e. hehe. hay. :)

= i need money.haha. i bought some clothes for myself and some gifts kaya naubos ung kita ko sa calendar business ko.haha. kainis. haha. pero ok lang. sarap pala gumastos kpag pera mo ung gnagastos mo. :)

= I will go to MOA with my family later. la lang. haha. sana makakuha ako ng night shots na bongga. hay. still mastering and maximizing the features of my digicam.

=wahhh..kaka-send ko lang nung entry ko.waahhh..tama ba ang decision ko??? katakot. 

= i wanna sing. :D and...i wanna lose weight.thats my christmas wish.hahahah..imposible. :D

Haha.We had our worksop for CREATIV kanina. Grabe. Tama cla ryza, mico and esjay! GT is really nice.haha.nice guy (?) with a nice laugh and smile. Ansaya tlaga. Knowing na medyo strict siya sa class. Ang honest niya and I liked how our workshop turned out. We were able to express our views and suggestions freely.

Anlupit pa ng sinabi nia e..d ko alam kung pambobola b un o tlgang he meant it when he said: " Ang ganda. The piece itself is too ambituous. Very imaginative. Very very very promising. Pang-Palanca award to. Actually, even yan (pointing to Annika's and Gen's work), may potential yang manalo sa Palanca Awards kung malilinis niyo lang yung few sentences. Great"

WOW! Hindi ung cnabi nia ung mabigat e. Ang mabigat dun is kung kanino nanngaling ung mga words na un! I thought npka-insensitive niya pero hindi pla. He's such a nice gentleman. AStig ang criticisms niya. So inspiring. 

I just got home from Alabang Medical Clinic. Whew. I underwent a minor surgery in my left eye and how does it feel? haha. it was exciting and it felt a little weird.haha. Grabe. Hindi ko ma-feel ung mata ko. Cute pala ng feeling kpag kinakalikot (as in kinakalikot) ung mata mo and yet wala kang maramdaman. Well, yeah..mejo masakit pero carry lang. :)

Ayun. buti pde na ko pumasok bukas. :) Kanina nung pauwi na kami. ang weird ng reaxion ng mga tao sa mukha q.haha. Alam mo yun, ung prang tingin nila halimaw ako.hahaha. 

O. A nga nung mga bata na nksalubong ko e:

Bata Boy: Ui. Ui. Tingnan mo o! Wala syang isang mata!! (as in panic siya at sabay bulong sa katabi niya. adeek e. parang siya ung inoperahan e.haha.)

Batang Usisera: Ay!!! OO nga noh!!! (eto pa isang adeek. parang ngaun lng nakakita ng babaeng may takip sa mata)

LAHAT NG BATA: *(nakatingin sakin.parang ganto o:  at sinusundan ako ng tingin hanggang sa umabot na ng 360 degrees ung ikot ng ulo nila. tsk tsk. hindi yata nila alam na bka magka-stiffed neck sila at sila nman ang operahan. kapag nangyari un, AKIN ang huling halakhak!! BWAHAHA. Nye. Joke lang Lord..mabait ako e. )

Anyway, ano ba nangyari sa mata q? ewan q ba. My eye saw RAINBOW CIRCLES last night. LITERAL.haha. seryoso. :)
